Happy Birthday to Me

Published by Steve under Apple,Life

So I’m a few days late, but I’ve been pretty busy enjoying my swank new toys I got for my 32nd birthday this past Wednesday the 21st. I’ll list them out in the order that I opened them to avoid showing any favoritism. First up was the one I opened up the night before my [...]

Assassin’s Creed

Published by Steve under Games

The developers who’ve brought us Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, and Ghost Recon (to name a few), offer up Assassin’s Creed as their latest title for the 360 and PS3. Based on that reputation, and the reviews I’ve been seeing, I picked it up sight-unseen. This is a lot to live up to, and boy am [...]

30 Days of Night

Published by Steve under Movies

Saw this movie this past Saturday and am just now getting around to writing about it. It’s an interesting vampire movie to say the least. The movie is set in a small town in Alaska called Barrow. Apparently, once a year the angle of the Earth causes Barrow to be completely without sunlight for a [...]

Windows Home Server

Published by Steve under Networking

I’ve been testing Windows Home Server since early Beta, and I have to say this product could and should revolutionize home networking. From features like the popular Windows Media Connect to the platform’s extensive backup capabilities, this is truly a product that can take multimedia and personal computing functionality to new heights.

Surgery

Published by Steve under Life

I’ve been battling a cyst above my tail bone for a few months now, and I think I have to resign myself to losing the battle. The doctor tells me that I most likey have a Pilonidal Cyst or Abscess. So I’m laid up on the couch in pain and hoping the new antibiotics at [...]

I Am Legend

Published by Steve under Books

Jamie picked this book up for me at Sam’s Club over this past weekend since I’m looking so forward to the movie coming out. I read it in three days and got through it that fast for two reasons: 1. It’s incredibly riveting. 2. At 160 pages, it’s pretty short.

Departmental Budget

Published by Steve under Work

Who knew managing a budget could be such a pain in the ass? It’s times like these that put things into perspective for you. In ignorance, we’ll view our company leaders as bloated figureheads with sometimes little patience for us peons. In reality, these people are thinking and working on levels we sometimes truly don’t [...]

Happy Birthday Mom

Published by Steve under Random

I miss you so much. This is the 6th year that I haven’t been able to say it to you and celebrate with you. I feel so lost without you sometimes. Thank you for everything… Your love, your guidance, and for being my mom. I’ll never stop loving you.

Windows Maintenance

Published by Steve under Work

Performed Windows maintenance on the production servers at work. That went long. Doesn’t it always? I scheduled 2 hours and ended up going 3. That sucks, but you know… Shit happens. You do your best and that’s all you can do. The hold-up was a combination of things.

Forum back…

Published by Steve under Random,Work

So I discovered a couple of weeks ago while checking out the phpBB forum of the company I work for, that my own phpBB forum was hacked by some bot exploit. Thanks assholes! I hadn’t gotten around to addressing the problem since it’s not used by anyone anyway. Well I got motivated and fixed it. [...]
