The calculator on this page provides a realistic estimate of your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate).

What is BMR? Your body’s BMR is a measurement of energy required to keep it functioning while at rest. Measured in calories, metabolic rates increase with exertion, stress, fear, and illness.

How to use this tool:

Fill in all required fields below. If your goal is to lose weight by burning off excess body fat, enter the number of pounds you intend to lose in the “per week loss” box. Base your daily caloric intake on the number of calories appearing in the “Target Daily Caloric Intake” box.

Remember to be realistic in your expectations and to consult with your physician before beginning any diet change or exercise plan.
